Preplate is a meal planner for people who actually track. Set your targets, fill the week, and the grocery list writes itself. Now with AI meal planning and photo logging.

What is Preplate? Preplate is a free iOS meal-planning app from Cooper Industries for people who track calories and macros. It combines a weekly meal planner, a macro tracker with photo and barcode logging, a recipe library, and a grocery list that generates itself from your plan and sorts by store aisle. Premium adds AI planning and costs $2.99/month or $14.99/year.
Most meal planners stop at the recipe. Preplate carries your targets all the way through to the checkout lane.
Assign recipes to lunch and dinner slots and watch each day's calories add up against your goal. Meal Prep mode fills Monday to Friday in one tap and scales the batch to match. Save the week as a template and reuse it.

Search a food database, scan a barcode, photograph your plate, or just type "two eggs and toast." Calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber and sodium against the targets you set, with a training-day and rest-day toggle.

Every recipe on the week becomes a shopping list automatically: quantities scaled to your servings, duplicates merged across recipes, recurring staples added, everything sorted by aisle. Each item shows which recipes need it. At Kroger-family stores it follows the real physical aisle order of your store.

"Four dinners, high protein, chicken twice, nothing over 40 minutes." The AI planner proposes a week of dinners that hit your targets, adds the new recipes to your library, and applies them to the calendar in one tap. Regenerate until it's right.

At a restaurant, snap the menu. Preplate reads it, looks at the calories and macros you have left today, and ranks the dishes by how well they fit. Tap one to log it.

If any of these sound like you, Preplate was built around your week.
